The Merge were one of the first bands I got involved with. My good friend Alex made me aware of them and like I all bands I had an interest in I went to see them live. And like most bands I had an interest in and saw live they were quality..

So cutting to the chase.. I used to go into rehearsals with all my bands to set the standards so to speak. Work on set lists and listen to what they were working on. They used to warm up to the intro of this one and I was always like ‘You got to do something with this’.. Which was usually met with funny looks as they cut into their set list..

Well.. Thankfully they did.. We went into the studio with Spooner. Noel Gallaghers guitar technician. Another friend of a friend and tracked three tunes. Let Them Hang, Ale House Hunter & this one. Lose Control.. Like all good recording sessions we got the Beers & JD’s in and partied well into the early hours. That was regular form when we all got together anyway but on the back of new recordings it was extra special.

Finally we have gotten the chance to master these recordings and it has lifted them to an excellent level. Enjoy..
